Riffing on Grandma

I call it Grandma Fusion.

It’s this new Thai-Iowa cooking style I invented last night, born out of recent cravings for both Grandma Wilson’s noodles and a little Thai heat. What I went for was a bowl of beef and noodles, dosed with a little red curry paste and Sriracha.

Pretty sure Granny wouldn’t have cared for it.

I did! The heat boost was just what I was after, and what better beer to tame it than an Iowa-brewed Peace Tree Double IPA. Hoptacular, and a riff of its own with its Belgian yeast fermentation twist, this Belgo-American is the citro-pine big brother to the Knoxville brewery’s Hop Wrangler 3 IPA. It’s a worthy addition to Iowa beer and last night was a tasty-good night.
