It’s that time of year.
My good buddy Glenn knows I like my old North Carolina breweries and am attuned to sipping with the seasons. So in our recent trade, I couldn’t be surprised when this Big Boss brew appeared on my doorstep. It’s a spiced pumpkin ale with a lovely aroma and matching rounded palate. The spicing is well-done, flavorful without biting in any unbalanced, negative ways. If there were a pile of cloves in here, a good beer would be ruined.
It’s a tasty beer, but while I love pumpkin pie on a year-round basis, pumpkin beers are generally something that 6 or 12 ounces per year seem to suit me fine. This is the time for that, and now I turn back to the o-fests.
