Looks like I’m a day late talking about this beer. The temperature has unseasonably soared into the 60s of late, but today is cold with snow-chunk precip falling noisily outside. Just yesterday we were playing baseball in the yard.
I’ll let the thoughts of Widmer’s Drifter Pale Ale console me, as I look to the warmer days of spring, and the slacking off by the lake that this brew might inspire.
Drifter pours a brilliant copper, with piney, minerally citrus in the nose. It has good body, is somewhat creamy, and melded with a bitterness that is apparent but not overpowering. Flavor and aroma hops are well-tended, and this beer proves immensely drinkable and refreshing.
Good. Makes me long for cabin fever, spring cleaning, meat on the grill and summers with fresh corn-on-the-cob and a line in the lake.
